ORIGINS, Chakravarthi’s first solo painting exhibition is inspired by notes kept over two years of therapy. The deeply biographical works explore memory, culture-specific rituals and Yogas, indigenous Indian and Tantric practices as a tool to move away from form identity and towards the essence identity.

‘I kept a written diary throughout the two years of therapy to record and track the development of sessions, and this was placed at the core of these works. Many of the 96 journal entries contribute to the overall development of this body of paintings, as well as to the specific themes of identity (lived, adopted and inherited), memory (including ancestral), trauma (CPTSD), spirituality and sexuality.’
